Point of entry
Finally, the case study about “Operation Clean Sweep” translates theoretical categories into material-visual artifacts. Maps, drawings, and diagrams register the ways in which bodies are affected - acted upon. The case study also discusses how the material-immaterial city either/both exacerbates and ameliorates conviviality.
The maps don’t merely provide snapshots of landscapes but explore the network flows and processes that produce sociopolitical events. The case study pushes the metaphor of maps into literal cartographic practices.
Maps, in Guattari-Deleuzian terms, possess multiple entry and exit points and create lines of flight. Spatial representations rhizomatically express the simultaneity of forces compared to textual genres.
